The 2026 season kicks off at a new location: Registration for Rookies Cup #1 in Kranjska Gora is now open. A new course, a new venue, and plenty of fresh energy—the perfect start for the next generation of downhill racing.

Premiere in Slovenia – New Location, New Opportunities

For the first time, the Rookies Cup is making a stop in Kranjska Gora—and it’s kicking things off with a real highlight. The region is located in the Alps and is one of Slovenia’s most famous outdoor destinations. World-renowned in winter for its World Cup ski races, it has long been a hotspot in summer for cyclists, nature lovers, and adventurers.

Kranjska Gora was already part of the international racing calendar last year and impressively demonstrated the potential this location has to offer: challenging terrain, perfect infrastructure, and a setting that makes the racing even more intense.

New Course Designed Specifically for Rookies

The first race of the season will feature a brand-new track. The course is being built from scratch and tailored to the rookies’ skill level to ensure fair yet exciting racing. This means last year’s iXS European Downhill Cup course will not be used. 

The Perfect Start to the Season

From May 22 to 24, 2026, the best young riders from across Europe will gather in Kranjska Gora to kick off the new season. A new location, a new course, new opportunities—that’s exactly what makes this first stop so special. Not only does a new season begin here, but for many, it also marks the next step in their athletic development.
