It's on to Schladming for the final round of the PROPAIN Rookies Cup and the iXS International Rookies Championships. The Planai is once again the venue for the double race and is known for its challenging tracks.

Grand Final

Schladming is located in north-west Upper Styria in the upper Enns Valley. The town is framed by the Dachstein to the north and the Niedere Tauern to the south. In the past, Bikepark Schladming was an integral part of the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup and organised the "NotARace - iXS Test Session" during the coronavirus pandemic, where well-known riders such as Tahnée Seagrave, Brook Macdonald, Loic Bruni and several other pros competed. It quickly became clear that Schladming would be a fitting venue for the grand series finale and the exciting International Rookies Championships.

The Organisation

And the highlight of the season also requires a strong organisation in the background: the Bike School Pekoll will once again act as the organiser and has the Planai Bergbahnen GmbH as well as the Schladming-Dachstein tourism region and the Bike Club Schladming-Dachstein at its side as supporters. Only through a great deal of commitment and mutual trust can an event of this magnitude take place and be further developed. This is why everyone involved is proud to support the next generation of downhill athletes and to promote racing careers.

The track

The race takes place on the famous World Cup downhill course, which winds its way through the forest down into the valley for around 1.5 kilometres from just below the middle station. Riding technique is required here, as high steps, varied jumps and difficult root passages demand a lot from the young athletes.
